Global Resources, Inc. was started in 1987 for the purpose of overseas trading and consulting.

The owner and CEO is Lawrence C. "Pat" Davis, Jr. , a 1958 graduate of Wake Forest University with a BS degree in chemistry. Before Global Resources, Inc. he was  Director of Research for WICA Chemicals, Inc. a manufacturer of polymers and resins for the textile, paper and paint trades. He later became executive vice president and part owner of ABCO Industries, Inc., a supplier to the textile trade of sizing and finishing agents to include many types of polymers.

Davis' technical background has been primarily been focused on the development, application and production of water based emulsion, solution and colloidal suspension polymers.

Global Resources, Inc. has supplied textile related products to companies primarily in South America for the production and finishing of print goods to include a variety of products from sizing agents to soil release polymers. In addition, Mr. Davis has been a consultant to: Palmetto Chemicals, Inc., Eastman Chemical Co., Ethox Chemical Co., and, Inc. In addition he has been retained as an expert witness in cases involving his field of expertise.
